Gene Brandao has been a certified public accountant since 1989, and is currently licensed to practice in Arkansas. He began his career with the international public accounting firm Coopers & Lybrand, LLP, where he performed accounting, auditing and tax services for banks, securities brokers, savings & loans, and not-for-profit organizations.
Gene then served as controller for an oil & gas litigation law firm in Houston, Texas. In 1992, he began a 10 year employment with Moore, Tyler & Company, Inc., a CPA firm which provided litigation consulting and expert witness testimony on financial issues in litigation. His assignments included investigation of breach of contract and dispute settlements, audit malpractice, assessment of officer and director fraud, embezzlement and mismanagement of funds, and calculation of sustained damages. In particular Gene provided consultation and analysis on securities fraud and lost profits analysis in multiple industries.
Gene also served as controller for the firm, handling accounting, payroll, accounts receivable and accounts payable, billing, budgeting, and tax reporting for the business and its owners.
In 2003, Gene was hired by a client of Moore, Tyler & Co, Inc., a securities litigation law firm in Little Rock. He continued to provide consultation and analysis in securities litigation. He also continued to perform all accounting and tax functions for the firm.
In 2011 Gene got the opportunity to use the full range of his skills and training through the acquisition of Diamond Lakes CPA services. It is his honor and privilege to work with the people of Hot Springs, Hot Springs Village and the surrounding towns in central Arkansas.
